TATA Nexon with foliage green is an all eye captivating for its stellar looks as above.

Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 300 & Volkswagen Taigun are considered to be the safest cars in India within the SUV segment under 14 Lakhs. Particularly, the engines of Nexon and XUV300 are 1.2L 1190cc engines compared to 1.0L 999cc engine of Taigun. Nexon shows max power of 118bhp at 5500 rpm followed by 114bhp at 5000 rpm by Taigun and 109bhp at 5000 rpm by XUV300. In terms of torque, XUV300 outperform with 200 Nm at 2000 rpm followed by 178Nm at 1750 rpm by Taigun and 170 Nm at 1750 rpm by Nexon.



In dimensions and weight of all the 3 models align within the same range, Nexon offers 209 mm ground clearance which is way beyond Taigun at 188 and XUV300 with 180mm respectively. Thanks to the front and rear disc brakes of XUV300, the braking system is quite ingenious, while the other two offer only front disc brakes.



Nexon and Taigun are successful in offering the safest cars within this segment with a global NCAP of 5 star rating. Giving a tough competition XUV300 acquired NCAP 5 star rating. Other safety features remain more or less similar between all the three models. The AC features in XUV300 could have been better with rear AC vents. XUV300 provides front and rear parking sensors while the other 2 provide only rear parking sensors. TaigunтАЩs steering adjustments, manual tilt and telescopic controls seems to be a plus point. The driver seat adjustment is 8 way manual in Nexon and XUV300 while it is 6 way manual in Taigun. Similarly the front passenger seat adjustments are 6 way compared to 4 way manual adjustments in Taigun. Taigun with curcuma yellow foliage is ever vibrant as below



All the three models offer driver armrest storage which is quite practical for everyday use. Taigun should have been equipped with rain sensing wipers. The headlamps are automatic for both Nexon and XUV300, They also provide follow me home headlamps. Fog Lights and glove box lamps are given for all the three models.

Nexon offers a digital instrument cluster compared to a conventional analog cluster by the other two. A whopping ten inches touchscreen display with perfect touch sensing and seamless navigation in Taigun stands out from the rest of the competitors.




Interestingly Taigun has also added wireless charging and four years of warranty.

All the three SUVs have been received well in the market. The price point of Volkswagen Taigun highline 1.0TS version stands at INR 13.56lakhs (ex- showroom price). Mahindra XUV300 W8(O) 1.2 L petrol version stands at INR 12.38 lakhs (ex-showroom price). The TATA Nexon XZ+(O) stands at INR 11.29 lakhs (ex-showroom price).
